A comfortable run through Blossom Bar Rapid.
Our 3-day Rogue River rafting trip covers 35 miles of the Rogue River from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. All of our Rogue River trips meet at the Galice Resort, near Merlin, OR - about 25 miles from the city of Grants Pass. Following a morning orientation (with plenty of time to pack), we launch for the first of three spectacular days. We’ll encounter our first whitewater challenges right away at Graves Creek Rapids and Grave Creek Falls. For safety reasons, our guests walk around Rainie Falls while the guides maneuver the rafts through the tricky channels. Keep your camera handy and watch for Salmon leaping at the falls. Each day brings plenty of whitewater and a wide range of activities to satisfy the adventurous, the studious, or those just wishing to relax. We’ll visit western novelist, Zane Grey’s historic fishing camp, enjoy short hikes to idyllic swimming holes on pristine side creeks, while keeping a sharp lookout for black bear patrolling the riverbanks and bald eagles soaring along the canyon walls. Our first day ends at remote Black Bar Lodge. On the second day we venture into the heart of the canyon, negotiating the narrow and fast currents of Mule Creek Canyon (one of the most unique places you’ll ever experience) and the maze of boulders at Blossom Bar Rapid. Our second day ends at historic Paradise Lodge. The lodges are accessible only by boat and offer clean sheets, hot showers and family style dinners. Our time at the lodge is free to hike, relax by the fire and enjoy the tranquil and scenic setting. On our final day, we reach our take-out near Agness, OR in the early afternoon. Our return transportation to Galice takes us on a very scenic two-hour tour of the remote Siskiyou Mountains. We’ll be back to Galice at about 5 P.M.
| "The whole four-day experience far exceeded our expectations, and largely due to the tireless efforts, culinary talents, and jovial attitudes of our guides. We’re in the process of filling out the feedback form, but there may not be enough room to adequately express our appreciation for the great time we had. I have no doubt that we will raft with Ouzel again at some time in the future, and I’m spreading the word at my office. " |
