Towering Douglas fir forests line this steep and rugged canyon, shading the crystal clear water as it cascades through steep gorges and boulder-strewn rapids. Our overnight trips provide the convenience of car camping in forest-shrouded river-side campgrounds, while tackling the best whitewater stretches on the river. Offered late August through mid-September, this is the ultimate in excitement on the North Umpqua River. This trip features the opportunity to paddle single-person inflatable kayaks through numerous class II and class III rapids with a final exciting challenge at class IV Pinball Rapids. This trip is not for beginners.
