A Rogue River Vacation
Southern Oregon offers a wide variety of scenic attractions and activites. When combined with a Rogue River Rafting Trip you've got one of the very best vacations that the west coast has to offer. Here's a sample itinerary:
Day 1: Fly to Medford and rent a car (or drive). Spend this afternoon and evening in historic Jacksonville, Oregon. Stroll the downtown district and take in an outdoor concert at the Britt Festival. Enjoy fine dining and luxurious accommodations at the Jacksonville Inn.
Day 2: Spend the day at Oregon’s only national park. Crater Lake National Park is a 2 hour scenic drive into the Oregon Cascades. It's the deepest, coldest and clearest lake in the United States. Have lunch at the historic lodge, enjoy the spectacular rim drive and take a hike or a boat tour to Wizard Island. Return this evening to the Rogue River and settle in at Morrison's Rogue River Lodge. Enjoy another evening of fine dining and comfortable accommodations along the banks of the Rogue
River.
Day 3-6: Here's the best part! 4-days of thrilling rapids, comfortable camping, spectacular scenery and wildlife as we float the famous wilderness section of the Wild & Scenic Rogue River. Learn about the natural and human history of the canyon, spot deer, osprey, bald eagle, river otter and black bear and relax without phones, television or traffic. Our 4-day Rogue River trip is guaranteed to be the highlight of your vacation. Our trip begins just a few miles away from Morrison's Lodge at the Galice Resort.
Day 6: Instead of returning to Galice with the rest of the group, have your car shuttled to the takeout at Foster Bar. From here you're only 30 miles for the Oregon Coast. Spend this afternoon and evening beach combing and relaxing at Jot's Resort in Gold Beach.
Day 7-8: Take a leisurely day exploring the Oregon Coast as you drive south. Your destination today are the giant redwoods and soaring sequoias of unforgettable Redwood National Park just over the border in Northern California. Linger on the coast or return to the Grants Pass area via Oregon Caves National Monument. Stay at the Oregon Caves Chateau in Cave Junction this evening or return to Medford for departing flights.
