Half & Full Day Whitewater Rafting Trips

Half & Full Day Rafting Trips in Oregon

If you’re planning a trip, river rafting is one of the best summer adventures in Oregon.

With Ouzel Outfitters, you’ll enjoy the perfect blend of excitement, natural beauty, and expert-guided fun, making it an unforgettable highlight of your summer.

Only have one day to play? We have the perfect rafting experience for all ages and skill levels. From the fun but beginner-friendly McKenzie River to the playful rapids of the Deschutes River or the adrenaline-pumping runs on the North Umpqua River, our trips are the ultimate Oregon adventure for individuals, groups, and families.

Our half and full-day trips feature small groups, with 2 to 4 rafts per outing and 6 to 7 people per raft. Small group sizes create a more personalized experience, perfect for those seeking memorable family activities in Bend, Oregon, or thrilling outdoor adventures with friends. Make sure to put whitewater rafting on your Oregon bucket list.

  • Preparing for Your Trip

Our Oregon rafting trips provide a beautiful scenery and connection with nature.

Each guest will be sent a trip planner which includes a list of what to wear and bring for the trip. It also includes meeting instructions, travel times, general itinerary and more.  Our reservations staff is always available to answer questions and make suggestions.

Each guest will also be asked to complete a Guest Registration Form. The registration form collects size information (for life jackets, splash gear and booties) dietary information, pertinent health and medical information and other information which helps us to prepare for your trip.

  • Shuttle & Meeting Locations

Ouzel guides are unloading rafts from a trailer by a river

We offer round trip transportation from Bend  to the Deschutes and McKenzie Rivers but space in our vans is limited. We do not offer transportation for the North Umpqua. In some cases it is more convenient to meet us at the put-in and have your vehicle shuttled to the take-out. For instance, the Deschutes River is on the way from Portland to Bend and the McKenzie River is on the way from Eugene to Bend.  We may be able to shuttle some groups back to their car after the trip.

  • Food & Beverage

A group of people are standing around a picnic table eating food.

Granola snacks and sparkling water are included on half-day trips.  For full-day trips a healthy and hearty deli-buffet lunch is included along with lemonade, iced tea and water.  Granola snacks and sparkling water are also included on full-day trips at the end.  We can accommodate vegetarians, gluten free and other dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions and food allergies can be indicated on the guest registration form.

  • Cold or Rainy Weather

A group of people are sitting in a raft on a river

We do NOT cancel trips because of poor weather.  It's important to be prepared for the trip. Check the weather and dress appropriately. The trip planner has suggestions for types of cold weather clothing.  In general, AVOID COTTON!  Ouzel will provide paddle jackets, paddle pants, neoprene booties, and if warranted, wetsuits, but guests need to have the proper base layer. With proper preparation, rafting in the rain is every bit as fun as on a normal sunny day.

  • How Strenuous is the Trip

A group of Ouzel guests are paddling down a river.

A few rapids require short bursts of strong paddling. Time on the water averages from 2 to 5 hours and may involve prolonged exposure to the elements.  Being prepared with the proper clothing is important.

Overall, our trips are only moderately strenuous. A high degree of physical fitness is not required, but guests should be reasonably healthy.  We are always happy to make reasonable accommodations, so if you have concerns, don't hesitate to give us a call.

  • Prices, Fees & Gratuities for Guides

Ouzel River Guides are posing for a picture on a boat.

Our trips are priced to be all-inclusive. There are no additional taxes, fees or add-on costs for items necessary for the trip. The trip cost listed on the trip details page is the final price.  The only exception is gratuities for the guide staff.

If you have enjoyed your trip and feel that your guides have done an outstanding job, it is customary to thank them with a gratuity. The amount is up to you, but a gratuity of between 15% and 20% of your trip fare is typical for Ouzel guests. The guides share their gratuities and will appreciate any expression of thanks you care to offer.
